Please fill out the survey below to inventory unwanted junk on the island. This form should be filled out by the land owner.
Why a Junk Survey?
Even though it's a complex challenge, keeping the island & its waters clean is important to everyone
- How can we identify the scale and scope of the island's clean up needs, now and in the future?
- How can we support the efforts of the many programs and volunteers already working to keep the island clean?
- How can we assist landowners who are looking for help with junk accumulation, both large and small, and prevent future pile up?
We think it's time for a junk census!
Island volunteers have put together this survey to create a census to identify the scope of the junk to be removed from the island. This survey should be completed by island property owners who have unwanted cars, scrap metal, large debris, and other junk.
Completing this survey will help identify:
- Individuals interested in cleaning up their properties
- The demand for summer clean-up options
- What grant opportunities may be available and
- The scope and path for future solutions
Completing the survey does NOT:
- Commit property owners to taking action, but does help us gauge interest in future options
This information will be shared with both townships, so that practical, long-term solutions or grant opportunities can be identified based on the scope of the challenge.
We encourage all islanders to participate in this effort and share the word of JoesJunk.org with their friends and neighbors on the island.
